The area also boasts excellent hiking and biking trails that you can take advantage of during the warmer months. There are also several area parks that are great for families with children.

Both offer great accommodations and ski runs that are better than what you’ll find in most other locations. Deer Valley was voted as the number one ski resort in North America by Ski Magazine in 2018, while snowboarders sometimes prefer Park City Mountain Resort.

Park city is just a short drive away from Salt Lake City, a major metropolitan area with a population of over one million people. This means you’re only a few miles away from plenty of job opportunities as well as the University of Utah. The Salt Lake City International Airport serves over 28 million passengers each year and provides Park City residents convenient access to cities across the globe. It’s rare that you can find a small town with major amenities like these, but that’s exactly what Park City has to offer.
The Local Food Options Are Superb

Foodies love Park City for their many excellent local restaurants. Many of them are located on main Street, such as Riverhorse on Main. One of the top-rated restaurants in the entire area, Riverhorse is known for its fresh seasonal dishes and its large wine cellar. You can also head out to Kimball Junction to enjoy delicious comfort meals from the Vessel Kitchen. They only prepare dishes that they can make from scratch while using only locally sourced ingredients.
Top-Rated Schools And Universities
The Park City School District is one of the highest rated educational systems, not only in the state of Utah but across the entire country. Many students go on to attend the nearby University of Utah or Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Another fine college is Brigham Young University, which is located just an hour away from Park City.
Pleasant Climate Year-Round
The Park City area rarely experiences humidity or rainy days. The sun shines most days, and the summer doesn’t get uncomfortably hot. July is the warmest month of the year with an average daily temperature of 83 degrees. Between May and October, average highs fall between 59 and 83 degrees. The winters will get cold, but the beautiful snow and fantastic skiing opportunities make the lower temperatures quite tolerable.
Breathtaking Natural Surroundings

Park City is home to over 400 miles of hiking trails, each one beautiful in its own right. Perhaps you wonder what other areas are worth exploring. Living in Park City, you won’t have to travel far. Drive about five hours to Moab and witness the iconic Red Rock landscapes. You’re also around six hours away from Jackson Hole and Yellowstone in Wyoming. If you prefer to fly, catch a direct flight to either location from the nearby Salt Lake City airport.
The State Income Tax Is Relatively Low
Utah regularly attracts businesses and companies that move their headquarters here because of the low tax rates. While property taxes can sometimes be slightly higher than average, the state of Utah ranks 25th in terms of the average state income tax.
