Winter Activities to try in Park City and Surrounding Areas – besides skiing.
Not a skier? Not a problem. Utah’s winter activities are just as good. Here is a list of activities that are sure to thrill the whole family.
Switch the skis to a snow tube.
Woodward Park City is the nation’s first 125-acre action sports and ski resort. Image barreling down the longest lift-serviced tubing hill in Utah. Too much adrenaline? In addition to the 125 acres, Woodward has a 19,500 sq/ft indoor fun zone complete with foam pits, trampolines, and a pump track.
Feel the rhythm! Feel the rhyme! Get on up, it's bobsled time! – Cool Runnings.
Now’s your chance to live out our inner Olympian - Home to the 2002 Salt Lake Olympic Winter Games, the Utah Olympic Park allows any thrill seeker the opportunity to experience the hair-raising rush of bobsledding. If daredevil is not in your vocabulary, try the lowkey Mountain Sports Simulator at the park's Alf Engen Ski Museum. Still too much thrill? Just pose for a picture in the stationary bobsled.
Must-see Ice Castles.
Midway Utah is a short drive from Park City and is home to the must-see Ice Castles. Wind through the one-of-a-kind frozen maze, explore LED-lit ice caverns, and crawl through passageways as you hum “Let it Go”.
Scuba in the snow.
Well kind of. Also located in Midway, the Homestead Crater is a geothermal spring 10,000 years in the making. The 55-foot tall, beehive-shaped limestone rock crater allows visitors of all ages the opportunity to swim, scuba dive, and snorkel in 90-96 degree mineral water all year long. One of the most popular experiences at the carter is taking a paddle board yoga class.
Relax.
Come down from your high of bobsledding with a relaxing afternoon at the spa. Utah’s only Forbes Five-Star spa, The Spa at Stein Eriksen Lodge offers guests a wide variety of unique spa treatments. Enjoy a muscle-warming hot stone massage or Oxygen Therapy. Oxygen Therapy? This unique and powerful treatment helps visitors get acclimated and re-energized to high mountain elevation from sea level.
